HOW THEY MET: On night out round the town in 2007.
PROPOSAL: During a romantic meal on July 26 2008 Emma asked Stewart to marry her and gave him a Thorntons chocolate picture frame with ‘will you marry me?’ on the front.
VENUE: St Mary’s Church, Maryport.
THEME: Pink, white and silver.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A Ronald Joyce fitted white princess dress with diamantes down the bodice, net to the bottom of the dress and roses on the side from Bridal House, Maryport and a tiara borrowed from a friend.
GROOMSMEN: Robert Corrie was best man and ushers were Carl Thompson, Michael Fisher and Damien Sheridan, all best friends of the groom.
The groom’s nephews Alex and Jake Scott and the bride’s half-nephew Joseph Douglas were page boys.
They wore grey-tailed suits, silver waistcoats and white shirts and the groom wore a silver cravat and the ushers wore pink cravats, from Tom Little, Maryport.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s cousin Rachael Fleming, the bride’s sister Lisa Douglas, the bride’s nieces Jessica and Lilly Douglas, the bride’s cousin Katie Fleming, the groom’s niece Lucy Scott and the groom’s sister Becky Scott were bridesmaids.
The older bridesmaids wore fuchsia pink fitted dresses with diamantes on the top from Beaus and Belles, Workington and the younger bridesmaids wore white dresses with net sleeves from Little Angels, Workington.
FLOWERS: The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink flowers, by friend Rita Mather, with help from the bride and her mother Margaret Ross.
TRANSPORT: An ivory Beauford open top tourer and two ivory Mercedes Benz 250 from A Touch of Class, Workington.
RECEPTION: Hundith Hill Hotel, Cockermouth, for a champagne reception and wedding breakfast for 89 guests and 150 guests for the evening celebration.
TABLE SETTINGS: Large champagne glasses with jelly and a small light in the bottom and a pink rose on the top from Finishing Touches, Workington.
FAVOURS: Home-made sloe gin for the men made by the groom’s father George Scott and a glass rose in a silver box for the women.
CAKE: A white three-tier cake with pink and white roses in a slant and roses on the top made by the groom’s sister-in-law Faye Scott.
FIRST DANCE: From This Moment, Shania Twain.
ENTERTAINMENT: Boogie Nights disco, Workington.
HONEYMOON: Mexico.
