Events to mark Keswick School bus crash anniversary

A book of condolence will be opened in memory of the two Keswick School pupils who died in a bus crash on the A66 last year.

On Tuesday pupils, staff and governors will write messages to Kieran Goulding, 15, and Chloe Walker, who died on her 16th birthday, to mark the first anniversary of the accident.

A private memorial ceremony will be held at the school where the school choir will perform and classmates will read tributes to the pair.

Flowers will also be laid inside a memorial garden named in their honour.

Sarah Peck, chairman of governors, said: “Kieran and Chloe have been sadly missed by their friends and the whole school community.

“This has been a difficult year for the school and many of our pupils and staff are still suffering from the effects of the accident.”
