A KESWICK hairdresser has been named runner-up at the Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser Awards.
Sharon Thompson, from Jingles Hair Studio, Pack Horse Court, was nominated by her friend Fiona Rigg.
The pair attended the ceremony at the Wella Hair Studio in Londonwhere Sharon was presented with an award, professional hairdressing scissors and a year’s supply of hair products.
Sharon, 37, of Borrowdale, said: “It was exciting to be in London for the ceremony and to be named as a runner-up.
“Both me and Fiona went down on the train and stayed in a four-star hotel in Kensington.
“We were taken to the awards ceremony at the Wella Studio where I had to do a cut and blow dry before the awards were announced.”
Sharon, who has been hairdressing for 21 years, said: “I had absolutely no idea that I had been nominated. I was delighted it was Fiona who had put my name forward.
“I’ve been doing her hair, on and off, for the last 20 years.”
Emma Griffiths, judge, explained: “Sharon Thompson really stood out for her fantastic styling, dedication to the industry and the relationship she’s formed with her client over the years.”
